Well my Beautiful Beta ladies have now gotten back to me about what they think of the first draft of A Beautiful Forever and I have to say I am pretty happy with their comments, they told me what they thought of the story line, where I can add a bit more depth and if it met their expectations or not.

So now, with all of this in hand, I have a very busy couple of months ahead of me while I pour over the manuscript a hundred times while I flesh it out and really make all of the characters come to life.

I'll keep you updated on my progress, but I will be fairly absorbed for a while until it's all ready to send out again.

I will stick with the April release date for now

Next Big Thing - A Beautiful Forever by Lilliana Anderson

The Next Big Thing is a great big spider's web of authors linking up and sharing information about their current works in progress or books that they're promoting. I have been tagged by Anthony Wood, you can visit him at Want For Words where he has a wonderful showcase of flash fiction for you to read.

Here are my answers to the ten interview questions about the book I am currently working on 'A Beautiful Forever'

1) What is the working title of your current/next book?

A Beautiful Forever, it's the sequel to my current release - A Beautiful Struggle

2) Where did the idea come from?
Originally it came from one of the ladies that helps me with Beta Reading, I have been joking that perhaps she is actually a muse because all of the authors she works with   tend to end up with series after planning only one book!
Then, after the release of A Beautiful Struggle, readers were contacting me to ask what happens next so I bit the bullet and started writing this one while the characters were still alive inside me.

3) What genre does your book fall under?
    Contemporary Romance/ Drama

4) What actors would you choose to play the part of your characters in a movie rendition?
My characters are Australian, so I thought I had better stick with Aussie actors.
For Elliot, the best match is Chris Hemsworth
For Paige, it's a toss up between Isabel Lucas and Phoebe Tonkin - although I think Phoebe might win out - I think she might do more justice with Paige's attitude.
5) What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
After ruining the best relationship he had ever had, Elliot finds himself heading to London where he meets the enigmatic Paige, another Aussie, whom he can't seem to stay away from.

6) Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

It will be self-published via Amazon, Createspace and Smashwords.

7) How long did it take you to write the first draft?

   20 days

8) What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

A Beautiful Struggle! lol - I find this question hard for Contemporary Romance because really all of the books follow a very similar formula, the characters and the problems they face may be different but essentially they're about two people over coming their hang ups to find a way to be together.

9) Who or what inspired you to write this book?

A lady that helps me beta read and my readers all asked to know Elliot's story.

10) What else about the book might pique the reader’s interest?

The female lead, Paige, is a tough woman - she's faced a lot of challenges in her life and come out on top. She's not a 'puddle at your feet' type of girl and she more than holds her own throughout the story.

To keep this going I will tag

A.V Scott - Author of the High Heels series (In progress)
Dennis Higgins - Author of Katya & Cyrus Time Pilgrims (available on Amazon)
Kristin Mckittrick - Currently working on an adult paranormal romance called Kissing Darkness
and
Sybil Watters - Currently working on Dixie: Open Roads

If you can spare them a little time, check out their work - I will add a link to their Next Big Thing Post as soon as they have popped their answers up.

Thanks for reading!

So, I am almost finished the last run through of the manuscript before I convert it and send it off for beta testing. I'm pretty happy with the story but of course I will be biting my nails until I get word back as to whether they like it or not.

Thankfully I have a team of wonderful women who help me out here and I trust them to be tough with me so I don't release a story that is just awful! lol

It doesn't stop me being nervous though! What if they hate it and I have to start all over! EEK!

Anyway, I'll keep you updated. Cross your fingers for me!

As you all know by now, I love sharing little pieces while I write and edit my novels - think of them as one very long and drawn out movie trailer!

Here's what I have been working on today - from Chapter 8
PAIGE

After a good five minutes worth of driving in silence Elliot starts laughing, “I can’t believe you kneed that guy in the crotch.”

I chuckle a little as I look out the window and think of the look in his face as he went down, “Well, he shouldn’t have been so grabby with me.”

“Hey, I don’t blame you, my fist really wanted to have a conversation with his face after watching the way he was treating you,” he says bluntly.

I look over at him, studying his profile as he stares ahead stoically, “Where you going to rescue me Elliot?” I ask.

He looks at me and smiles, “I don’t know what I was going to do really, I just didn’t like the way he was touching you.”

We lock eyes for a moment, quietly regarding each other. I’m not sure how I feel about this man being protective of me. I’ve been on my own and fought for myself for so long now. The thought of someone else willing to do it for me… well…it feels kind of… nice.

So I am going through my rough draft of A Beautiful Forever and thought I would share a few snippets with you as I go along - excuse any errors! It's all still very new :)

Elliot

The second Erin walks away, Paige moves one seat over. “I hope you don’t mind,” she says. “You’re just very broad and I thought you might like the extra space to stretch out.”

“Thanks,” I smile at her. She’s right, it is nice to have a bit more space in these small seats. I’m pretty good at keeping to my own spot but it’s better when I can lean into the space between us and angle my legs more comfortably.

She has lifted the arm rests and is now sitting two seats away from me with her legs on the seats between us and her head leaned to the side against the headrest. Looking at me with heavy lidded eyes, she seems to be struggling to hold them up. “Why are you going to London?” she asks me.

I lean my own head back and look over at her, thinking about my answer. Something about this situation makes me think, fuck it, so I tell the truth. “Because I don’t know who I am anymore.”

Her eyebrows move closer together as she considers my words, “Who did you used to be?”

“A Solicitor,” I answer, thinking about how much time I wasted studying for a career I didn’t even want.

Yawning, she shakes her head. “I didn’t ask what you were, I asked who you were.”

I look at her for a long moment before I answer, “A jerk, I used to be a jerk.”

“It’s the curse of the good looking guy, you’re all jerks,” she tells me knowingly.

I laugh a little, “Talking from experience?”

She shrugs her shoulders and tilts her head, non-committedly in response.

“So where did you catharsis come from? Some girl break your heart?”

I laugh a little, smiling at her insight, “I kind of turned into a jerk after that actually, before, I don’t know that I was a jerk - I was just living a life that wasn’t mine.”

“So, you don’t know who you are, but you’re hoping to find yourself on the other side of the world?”

I rest my head back in the seat and sigh heavily before I turn my head to meet her eyes, “I don’t know what I’m hoping. I just know I need a change, I’m sick of just… existing... What about you? Why are you going to London?”

“Same reason as you I guess. My life isn’t anywhere near what I used to imagine it would be. Time for a change.” She covers her mouth as she yawns, closing her eyes and working her head into the back of the seat. I watch her beautiful face until her breathing deepens and her features soften, before closing my eyes as well, letting sleep claim me.

I'm really nervous about beginning the first read through/edit of A Beautiful Forever, I know that once I start - I won't be able to stop, and honestly, there is a lot of other stuff I need to do right now. You know the stuff - the real life stuff that builds up while you're busy doing other things.

I'm torn - my manuscript needs me, my 'stuff' needs me; which one will win? or will I actually strike a happy balance for a change.... ?

Let's not bother waiting to answer that question, because - no, I will not be able to strike a happy balance. I am obsessive about my writing and can't seem to switch my mind off for long enough to focus on other tasks. So, sorry cluttered shelf - you're going to have to stay that way for while longer!

It is times like this when I am really glad for the hours I spent, forcing myself to learn how to touch type at a decent speed because, it means, that when I have a story burning inside of me, it doesn't take that long to get it down.

This is where I tell you that I just finished the first draft of A Beautiful Forever. It feels so good to get story out of my mind because it got really intense in there for a while, especially while Paige was telling me her story! (Ow - my heart!)

So, it looks like you can expect that I will publish this one earlier than expected - it all depends on how beta testing goes of course - if my beautiful Beta Ladies don't like it (please do!), then there will be some major rewrites in store for me!

Timeline for me right now is - tomorrow - take a day off and hang out with my family. After that I will work on the first edit of the manuscript before I send it off for testing in approx two weeks. So watch this space for a couple of teasers while I edit!

Talk soon!
